Schwind joined the Brockport coaching staff in the Spring of 2016 as an assistant coach. He brings with him a wealth of playing experience, having played professional baseball in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization since 2011.
After being selected by the Pirates after his junior season at Marist College, Schwind has worked his way through the ranks of the minors, playing at every level (Rookie, Short-Season A, Low A, High A, Double A, Triple A). He's also gained experience playing nearly every position on the field with the exception of short stop.
Over his minor league career, he's played in over 300 contests, registering over 850 at-bats in the process. In 2011, he made a statement in his first professional season by hitting .347 in the Gulf Coast League. The Rochester native has also been dedicated time to charitable causes, being named the Pirates Community Commitment Award Winner on three separate occasions.
Schwind completed his Bachelor's degree in Marist in 2016, and continues to play in the Pirates organization.
