Steven Morse

Steven Morse

Steven Morse joined The College at Brockport Baseball coaching staff as an assistant in the fall of 2014 helping the Golden Eagles secure a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) playoff berth during the 2015 season. Morse brings a wealth of knowledge and ability to Brockport, after concluding his highly successful collegiate playing career at SUNY New Paltz.

During Morse’s senior season at New Paltz he was named team captain and led several offensive categories including batting average, hits, on base percentage and total bases which led to his selection as a member of the All-Conference team in the SUNYAC. At the conclusion of his playing career, Morse ranked fourth all-time in New Paltz history in assists despite playing only three seasons for the Hawks because he previously attended Dowling College.

At a young age, Morse has built an impressive coaching resume. His head coaching experience includes summer baseball teams the New York Steelheads and Team Long Island/NYC in the PBR NY State Games. He also was the assistant coach of the New York Federals of the North Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League – serving as the third base coach and hitting/infield instructor.

Morse has also worked and instructed at several collegiate level baseball camps run by New Paltz, Brockport, Bard College and most recently Army West Point. At New Paltz, Morse was also involved with internet broadcasts of Hawks basketball games, providing play-by-play announcing.

In 2014, Morse received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from New Paltz and currently he is pursuing his Master’s degree in Athletic Administration from The College at Brockport Graduate School.

Morse primarily works with infielders and hitters, while also assisting in recruiting and team management.
