Dan Lynd

Dan Lynd was hired as an assistant coach for the Brockport men’s soccer team in the Fall of 2018 and he was promoted to Associate Head Coach in the Summer of 2025.  The Penfield, NY native played four years as a goalkeeper at the Division I University of Pittsburgh from 2012-2016.  He spent three years in the ACC and one season in the Big East.  Lynd is the Pitt. school-record holder in minutes played, shutouts, and saves per game among goalkeepers.   

Soaring Higher: Lynd's first season with the Golden Eagles saw Brockport tie its single-season wins record (16), helping lead Brockport to a SUNYAC Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance. Lynd would guide six athletes to the SUNYAC All-Conference team in 2018, with four Golden Eagles earning All-Region honors. Since Lynd arrived in 2018, the Golden Eagles have posted a strong 57-32-22 record, making a SUNYAC Championship appearance in 2022 and an Empire 8 Championship Semifinal appearance in 2024. Lynd's goaltending expertise has helped guide multiple All-Conference goalkeepers, including Tautis Poniskaitis (2018), and Andrew Taylor (2022, 2023). Under head coach Gary LaPietra, Lynd and the Brockport coaching staff have been recognized as the SUNYAC Coaching Staff of the  Year twice (2018, 2022).   

Following a fantastic collegiate career, he was invited to preseason with Sporting KC of the MLS.  Following his stint in the MLS, he signed with the Rochester Rhinos, where he played for two seasons.  In his third year of professional soccer, he signed with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, where he set the club record for shutouts in a season, and he helped guide the team to their first playoff appearance in years.
