Justin McQuality

Justin McQuality joined The College at Brockport Track and Field coaching staff during the summer of 2015 and will serve as the programs head instructor for the jumps, sprints, and multi-event groups.

McQuality joins the Brockport staff after a successful five year stint at State University of New York Athletic Conference rival Fredonia. McQuality was charged with coaching the jumps, sprints, multi-events, and javelin while with the Blue Devils, while also assisting with the pole vault and serving as the programs recruiting coordinator.

Prior to his stint at Fredonia, Coach McQuality spent one year as a volunteer assistant coach at Illinois College, a small private institution in Jacksonville, Illinois. Coach McQuality coached primarily coached the horizontal jump and multi-event groups while at IC, but also assisted in the development of athletes in the sprints and hurdles as well.

Over his six year career, Coach McQuality had the privilege of coaching student-athletes at Illinois College and Fredonia to some tremendous accomplishments that include a CoSIDA Academic All-American honor, a top 8 finish at the USA Junior National Championships, a top 8 finish at the Drake Relays, 4 USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, 5 NCAA DIII All-American honors, 18 Individual or Relay Conference Championship performances, 19 NCAA National Qualifying performances, and over 30 school record breaking performances.    

As a student-athlete himself, Coach McQuality had a success four-year career at Division III powerhouse North Central College where he earned his bachelors in Exercise Science and Psychology while serving for three-years as a captain of the men’s varsity track and field team. Coach McQuality specialized in the horizontal jumps, earning All-American honors in the indoor triple jump in 2008.

McQuality later earned a Master of Science degree in Exercise Science from California University of Pennsylvania. In addition, McQuality is a Certified Performance Enhancement Specialist by the National Academy of Sports Medicine, a Certified Speed and Explosion Specialist, and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the U.S. Track and Field Academy.

McQuality, a native of Divernon, Ill., lives just two blocks from campus in Brockport.
