Kersch has coached for over 25 years at the travel and high school levels. At the travel level he was involved with Warsaw Thunder, Amherst Lightning and for the last 14 years, the Rochester Lady Lions program. Kersch is the President of the Lady Lions organization as well as Head Coach of the 18u Showcase team. He has been heavily involved with the recruitment of many Lady Lions players to the D1, D2, D3 and Juco levels. Kersch‘s teams have finished in the top five at nationals three times and has won numerous tournament championships.
At the High School level he has coached varsity softball for 15 seasons. He has coached in three sectional finals and several semi finals. In the last 8 seasons he has coached at York High School where he was recognized in 2021 as the Section V Class C Coach of the year. Kersch also coached Varsity Soccer in the past and was also a high school umpire for several seasons.
Kersch is a big believer in giving back and has been involved in running several NFCA Strikeout Cancer events. He was recognized for his efforts being named Coaches vs Cancer NYS Softball Coach of the Year.
