Novara

Danielle Novara

Danielle Novara enters her third year with Brockport Athletics, serving as the Director of Men’s and Women’s Cross Country and Track and Field teams.

The past two years have seen tremendous success and growth under her leadership. In 2016 and then again in 2017, Danielle and her staff recruited and enrolled the largest, most talented, and most academically distinguished group of students in program history. Over sixty new and distinguished student athletes will join the team this year.

Across the board, the depth of the team has improved drastically. The women’s indoor and outdoor track team has finished runner-up in the SUNYAC conference for the past three seasons, and looks to some of the talented newcomers to boost them to the conference title this year.

At the individual conference level Novara has produced 30 SUNYAC Conference champions in the past two years, and two SUNYAC Rookies of the Year in 2017.

In her two short years with the program Novara has qualified 24 student athletes to the Division III NCAA Championships, and brought home 7 All-Americans. In 2017, Novara qualified 12 athletes in numerous events to the NCAA Outdoor DIII Championships, which is the highest number in Brockport program history.

Danielle’s coaching history includes tenures at Colgate University where she served as the Head Women’s Cross Country, Track and Field Coach, and Oberlin College, as the Assistant Cross Country, Track and Field Coach.

Under the tutelage of Novara, the Yeowomen of Oberlin College had two of its best performances in school history. The Yeowomen placed ninth in in NCAAs during the 2012 and eighth during the 2013 season.

Novara also helped produce the first two male qualifiers in school history for the 2013 Cross Country National Championship, and three NCAA All-Americans.

As an undergraduate student- athlete, Novara competed for SUNY Geneseo where she was a scoring member of 5th and 9th place squads at the DIII NCAA Cross Country Championships. She qualified for the 10,000 meter run at the 2009 NCAA Championships. She led her team to win five SUNYAC titles during her time as Blue Knight.

Danielle attended graduate school at Northern Arizona University where she received athletic scholarship to run for NAU’s squad in her final year of eligibility. During her time at NAU, she was named the captain of the women’s cross-country team.
