John-Martin Cannon joined the Brockport coaching staff in 2014 after a stellar career at The University of Buffalo. Cannon, a 2008 Brockport High School graduate, returns to his hometown after earning three NCAA Division I National Tournament appearances in his four seasons for the Univeristy of Buffalo.

In four years, he wrestled moved from the 157-pound class all the way to the 184-pound class as a senior. He qualified for the NCAA Tournament as a sophomore at 165 pounds with a 22-win season and a third place finish at the MAC Tournament. He was a national and conference all-academic selection. As a junior, in the 165-pound class, Cannon earned a second trip to the NCAA Tournament winning the 165-pound title at the MAC Championships. He posted 27 wins and was an All-Academic selection as well. In his senior season, Cannon earned a third trip to the National Tournament finishing second at the MAC Championships in the 174-pound bracket.

At Brockport High School, Cannon led the Blue Devils with a school-record 53 wins as a senior finishing with a 53-1 record. He was a third place finisher at both the 2007 and 2008 New York State Championship tournaments and was fifth at the 2006 tournament. His 191 career wins at Brockport is also a school record.
