Salvador Cruz brought his years of wrestling knowledge back to Brockport as an assistant wrestling coach in 2004. The 2013-14 season marks his 10th as an assistant coach with the program. During his tenure, he has played a major role in producing several National qualifiers and 11 All-Americans.
Cruz was a dominant wrestler with the Green and Gold, earning All-American honors at the 125-pound weight class during the 2003 season. During his Golden Eagle wrestling career, Cruz, a team captain, was an NCAA All-American, a two-time National Qualifier, a two-time conference finalist and a two-time all-state wrestler.
Cruz earned his Bachelor’s degree as a double major in Physical Education and Health Science and also earned his Master’s degree from The College at Brockport. He and his wife, Amy, reside in Rochester with their son Isaiah and daughter Amanda.
