SUNY Brockport Athletics

Jaylah Cossin

Jaylah Cossin was hired in the summer of 2025 as an assistant coach for the SUNY Brockport women’s soccer program.

A native of Silver Creek, N.Y., Cossin began her collegiate career at Cazenovia College before transferring to Brockport, where she competed for the Golden Eagles during her final two seasons. She was also a member of Brockport’s track and field team in her last semester, while competing for RNY in the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) and the Rochester Lazers in the Rochester District Soccer League (RDSL).

Cossin put together a decorated collegiate career highlighted by becoming the first All-American in program history when she was named a United Soccer Coaches First-Team All-American in 2024. Over her four-year career, she totaled 34 goals, 24 assists, and 92 points, earning a string of conference and regional honors:

2022 – First-Team All-North Atlantic Conference (Cazenovia)
2023 – Second-Team All-SUNYAC (Brockport) & United Soccer Coaches First-Team All-Region
2024 – First-Team All-Empire 8, Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Year, United Soccer Coaches First-Team All-Region, and First-Team All-American

At Brockport, she racked up 22 goals, 15 assists, and 59 points in just two seasons, ranking 13th all-time in career goals and points, and 10th all-time in assists. In 2024, she led the Empire 8 in goals (11) and points (30), while helping guide the Golden Eagles to a historic 15-2-2 season, a top-10 national defensive record, and just the second NCAA Tournament appearance in program history.

Cossin is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work degree at Brockport while launching her collegiate coaching career. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes positivity, work ethic, and resilience, with a focus on helping student-athletes grow both on the field and as individuals.
