Jessica Christenson

Jessica Christenson was named head coach of the SUNY Brockport women’s soccer team in the Summer of 2026 and is responsible for all facets of the Golden Eagles national caliber program.

Christenson comes to Brockport after serving as an assistant coach with the University of Rochester women’s soccer program, where she contributed to one of the region’s strongest Division III sides. Prior to Rochester, she spent nine years as the head women’s soccer coach at Keuka College in Keuka Park, N.Y. Over eight seasons with the Wolves, Christenson guided the program to 42 victories, including back-to-back 13-win campaigns in 2018 and 2019. In 2018, she led Keuka to the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) regular-season title and was recognized as NEAC Coach of the Year.

Throughout her coaching career, Christenson has emphasized player development and academic success. Under her leadership at Keuka, numerous student-athletes earned All-Conference honors in both the Empire 8 and NEAC, while many more were recognized for their achievements in the classroom with conference academic awards and national academic all-district honors. She also maintains strong ties to the regional soccer community through her longstanding work with RNYFC Soccer Club in Rochester, coaching girls’ teams across multiple age groups and helping cultivate the next generation of student-athletes.

Before beginning her coaching career, Christenson enjoyed an accomplished playing career. A 2012 graduate of the University of Connecticut, she was a four-year letterwinner and two-year team captain for the Huskies, helping UConn to NCAA Tournament appearances in 2009 and 2010. She finished her collegiate career with double-digit totals in both goals and assists and earned conference and national academic recognition.

Christenson went on to play professionally for four seasons. She began her professional career with the Ottawa Fury of the USL W-League, where she helped the club to a league title. She later joined the Portland Thorns of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), contributing to the Thorns’ 2013 NWSL Championship. Her professional journey also included stints overseas with Mallbackens IF in Sweden and Yzeure Allier in France, giving her extensive experience competing at the highest levels of the women’s game.

Christenson earned her bachelor’s degree in sport management from the University of Connecticut and completed her master’s degree in coaching and athletics administration from Concordia University Irvine. At Brockport, she pairs that academic background with high-level playing and coaching experience as she leads the Golden Eagles women’s soccer program into its next era.
