Maya Pecoraro

Former Golden Eagle standout Maya Pecoraro returned to SUNY Brockport in Fall 2025 as an assistant coach for the women’s gymnastics program under Head Coach Dr. Rene Lyst. Pecoraro graduated from Brockport in May 2025 with a 4.0 GPA, earning a B.S. in Psychology with double minors in Kinesiology and Pre-Professional Health. She was named to the President’s List every semester and was selected to the SUNYAC Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll.

During her four-year collegiate career, Pecoraro specialized on the balance beam and floor exercise, earning national recognition as a Top-6 nationally ranked athlete on beam during the 2023–24 season and finishing as the floor exercise runner-up at the NCGA East Regionals in 2023. She is a four-time WCGA Scholastic All-American. Prior to Brockport, she was a New York State Champion on vault, uneven bars, and balance beam, a three-time Region 6 qualifier, and an Eastern National qualifier.

Pecoraro began her coaching journey as a volunteer with the Golden Eagles in 2025, assisting with practice operations, administrative support, and day-to-day athlete development. She gained additional instructional experience through Brockport’s youth Junior Eagles program and gymnastics summer camps, helping young gymnasts build foundational skills, confidence, and competitive readiness.

A former Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) representative, Pecoraro served as a liaison between student-athletes and athletic administration and participated in key community engagement initiatives. With a deep understanding of Brockport’s culture, she is passionate about supporting student-athletes through both performance-based and personal growth.
