Sean Kemp was promoted to Director of Athletic Communications and Media Relations in the Fall of 2022. He was originally hired in the fall of 2019 as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications and Media Relations.
His responsibilities will include providing timely updates to supporters through the dissemination of news releases, alumni and booster newsletters and other publications as well as website development, and implementation of a social media plan. He will also manage all in-game operations for statistics, scorekeeping and public address of all athletic events and coordination of video streaming and live stats for athletic events.
Prior to his time at Brockport, he was a Graduate Assistant for Sports Information for three years in the Utica College Athletic Department.
After graduating from Brockport High School, he went on to receive his Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management with a Concentration in Facility and Event Management from the State University of New York at Cortland. Prior to finishing up at Cortland he spent the summer of 2016 as an intern in the Sports Information Office at Utica College, where he became a graduate assistant that fall. Sean completed his Master's Degree in Business Administration from Utica College in the summer of 2019.
Kemp worked under Gil Burgmaster, Brockport's Associate Athletic Director, while at Utica assisting with the promotion of all 26 varsity sports. As a graduate assistant he gained experience hosting a variety of athletic events including the 2017 NCAA Division III Men's Hockey National Championships. He was the primary contact in the office for soccer, tennis, golf, swim and dive, track and field, baseball, and was the secondary contact for basketball.
