Andrew Mrozek (Depew, NY/Lancaster) of the men’s football team has been named The College at Brockport Male Athlete of the Week after setting a school record with 252 receiving yards. The Golden Eagles defeated Western Connecticut 42-7 on Saturday.
Mrozek caught seven passes on the day for an average of 36 yards per catch. The sophomore’s two longest receptions of the day both came as touchdowns in the third quarter for the Golden Eagles. Mrozek caught an 88-yard touchdown pass to put Brockport up 22-7. The reception is tied for the fourth longest touchdown catch in school history.

For his performance, Mrozek was also awarded the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Offensive Player of the Week award. Mrozek becomes the second Golden Eagle this season to earn the award. Mrozek is the first wide receiver to earn the award since Jake Spalik (Johnson City, NY/Johnson City) in week seven of the 2011 season.
The Golden Eagles have a bye week this weekend but will return to action at Montclair St. on Nov. 3 at 1:00 pm.
