Senior goalkeeper Laura Thompson (Victor, NY/Victor) has been named The College at Brockport Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 22. Thompson had a shutout against the nationally ranked and previously unbeaten Union College.

In a game that Brockport was pitted against #12 ranked team in the country, Thompson was at her best. While the Brockport offense was struggling to get shots off, Thompson gave her team a chance to get the win by making eight saves. Brockport was unable to get a shot on net until the 82nd-minute mark. The Golden Eagles finished with only two shots for the game but had the shot that counted with less than four minutes remaining in regulation, giving the team a 1-0 victory.

This is the second year in a row Thompson has been honored with The College at Brockport Female Athlete of the Week award. On the season, Thompson has three shutouts and has led the Golden Eagles to a strong 5-1-0 start.
