Junior Marcy Merritt (Sherwood, WI/Kaukauna) has been named The College at Brockport Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 20. Merritt returned to familiar form this weekend with a pole vaulting victory at the Cortland Classic.

Merritt once again displayed her excellent form and superiority in the pole vault event for women as she won the Cortland Classic by more than a foot in height. This weekend she reached the height of 3.77 meters (12' 4 1/2") to claim first yet again. The 3.77 meters is a season-high for Merritt which improved upon her first place height of 3.43 meters at the University of Rochester Alumni meet that began the season.

Brockport hosts the Golden Eagle Invitational this Saturday which will be the final meet prior to the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Track and Field Championships which will also be held at Brockport.
