Chad Cummings has been named the College at Brockport Athlete of the Week for the week ending Nov. 22. On the weekend, Cummings scored three goals in two conference games, all of which were power play goals.
Friday night with the score knotted at three against Fredonia, Brockport found itself on the man advantage with 2:42 remaining in regulation. Unable to find an open man, Cummings took a shot from the point and tucked in up top to seal the 4-3 victory for the Golden Eagles.
Brockport headed to Buffalo State Friday night where Cummings picked up two more goals. In the first period and the score tied at one, Brockport earned a power play with less than three minutes remaining in the period. After receiving a pass from Tim Kielich, Cummings sent a shot through the Bengals defense and found the back of the net to give Brockport a 2-1 lead. With less than three minutes remaining in the second period, Brockport was down 5-3 and once again found itself on the power play. Cummings beat the goalie glove side to cut the deficit to one.
Cummings and the rest of the Golden Eagles will head to Castleton, Vt. Nov. 27-28 to compete in the Rutland Herald Invitational. Brockport will face host Castleton Friday night will face off set for 7 p.m.
