Haas was one of two national qualifiers on the Brockport team at the NCAA DIII Mideast Regional, going the distance in the 125-lb weight class and taking first place. After earning the No. 2 seed and an opening round bye, Haas eased through the first day, defeating Dylan Nuttal of York College by fall before a quarterfinal victory over Muskingum’s Jordan Buckholder by major decision (11-3). He kept it up on Sunday, defeating third seeded Guesseppe Rea of Wilkes University in the semifinals to earn a trip to the finals against top seeded Lucas Malmberg of Messiah, who he would beat by medical forfeit to claim the top spot in the region.
