Junior goalie Kasey Schreiner (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) saved six shots in a close victory over Houghton College for the Brockport Women’s Field Hockey team, earning her Female Athlete of the Week.

Schreiner kept the Highlanders scoreless for all of regulation and two overtime periods, sending both teams to a stroke off. Schreiner made two critical penalty saves that led to a 4-2 advantage and a 1-0 victory in the game. Schreiner finished the regular season atop the SUNYAC with a .790 save percentage and second in the league with a 1.72 goals against average.

The victory gave the Golden Eagles hope for continuing their season as Schreiner and her fellow teammates await an at-large postseason bid for the Eastern College Athletic Conference.
