Senior Kyle Sauln (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta) posted back-to-back shutouts in the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament for The College of Brockport Men’s Soccer team to earn him the Brockport Male Athlete of the Week award.

Sauln, who has now posted a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) best with 10 shutouts on the season, posted his first shutout of the weekend on Saturday against Manhattanville College in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Sauln made four saves in the Golden Eagles’ 1-0 victory over the Valiants.

Sauln posted his second shutout on Sunday in the second round of the tournament, this time the Golden Eagles came up short. Against Stevens Tech. Sauln did not give up a goal in two regulation periods and two overtime periods. Sauln made seven saves before heading into penalty kicks. Brockport eventually fell to the Ducks 4-2 in the shootout to end their season.

Sauln and the Golden Eagles finish the season in the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive year. Sauln’s record on the year finishes at 13-4-2. Sauln finishes his career with 13 total shutouts.
