Women’s Basketball Falls Short Against Potsdam

Mallory Buckley comes off the bench to lead Golden Eagles with 15 points

Rachel Csakany scored nine points and grabbed nine rebounds against Potsdam

Freshman Mallory Buckley (Syracuse, NY/East Syracuse-Minoa) scored a career-high 15 points for The College at Brockport Women's Basketball team but State University of New York Athletic Conference foe Potsdam took an early 11-point lead and held on for a 59-51 victory Friday night in Welsh Gymnasium in Potsdam.

Brockport (2-7 Overall, 0-2 SUNYAC) traded baskets in the early portion of the first half but a run through the middle of the first half allowed Potsdam (2-8, 1-2) to open up a double-digit lead and the Bears took an 11-point lead into the locker room for the halftime intermission with a 33-22 advantage.

In the second half, Brockport outscored the Bears 29-26 but the early first half lead was enough to give Potsdam the conference win.

Buckley led all Brockport scorers with her 15 points while Rachel Csakany (Schenectady, NY/Schenectady) added nine points and a team-leading nine rebounds.
