Missed Opportunities Cost Women's Soccer

Golden Eagles fall 3-0 to the Knights at home

Brockport had some missed opportunities in the first half against Geneseo

BOXSCORE

The College at Brockport Women's Soccer team had a couple good scoring opportunities in the first half of play but three second-half goal by Geneseo gave the Knights a 3-0 victory Saturday in a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) game in Brockport.

In the first half, Brockport (7-4-1 Overall, 2-3 SUNYAC) had two key rushes up the field but shots that tailed wide of the goal would have given the Golden Eagles an early lead.

“Those early opportunities would have changed the complexion of the game had we scored at least one of them,” said head coach Joan Schockow. “We need to take advantage of those opportunities. The defense played well but had a little let down toward the end of the game and they scored a couple quick ones against us.”

In the second half, Geneseo (9-3-1, 2-2-1) captured the lead nine minutes into the second half and late in the half, scored twice in less than a minutes to seal the victory.

Senior Erin Asquith (Arcade/Pioneer) made three saves for Brockport.
