Senior Rachel Csakany (Schenectady, NY/Schenectady), junior Kelly Grinnell (Auburn,  NY/Auburn) and freshman Cecilia Sigrist (Rochester, NY/West Irondequoit) each scored more than 10 points Saturday afternoon but it was not enough as Plattsburgh posted a 78-58 victory over The College at Brockport in a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) game in Memorial Hall in Plattsburgh.

Grinnell and Sigrist netted team-highs with 14 points apiece and Csakany chipped in 13 points for Brockport (1-7 Overall, 0-3 SUNYAC). Sigrist grabbed a team leading 10 rebounds.

The first half of play was close as the teams traded baskets for a majority of the first 20 minutes but a late 9-0 run for Plattsburgh (3-4, 2-3) gave the Cardinals a 40-30 advantage at the halftime intermission.

In the second half, Brockport stayed within 10-12 points for most of the first 15 minutes of the half and trailed by 10 with 6:45 remaining after Sigrist connected on a pair of free throws. Plattsburgh went on another 9-0 run to build a lead.

Brockport connected on 50 percent of its 3-point shots including a 4-for-8 effort by Grinnell from beyond the arc.
