Senior Ray Lund (Thiells, NY/North Rockland) won the weight throw competition at the Robert Kane Invitational Meet at Cornell University Saturday with an NCAA Championships automatic qualifying standard throw of 18.85 meters (61 feet, 10 ¼ inches) as The College at Brockport Men's and Women's Track & Field teams competed in the open meet in Ithaca.

The throw for Lund was a personal best as he eclipsed the 18-meter mark with five of his six throws in the competition. The senior also finished fourth in the shot put with a heave of 15.03 meters (49' 3 ¾”). Teammate Dustin Colgan (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) was second in the shot put with a distance of exactly 50 feet (15.24 meters) and was seventh in the weight throw with a toss of 16.73 meters (54' 10 ¾”).

Sophomore Zach Ferrara (Rochester, NY/Irondequoit) broke the Brockport school record in the pole vault during Saturday's Cornell University Invitational. Ferrara cleared 4.80 meters (15 feet, nine inches) to best the previous record, held by Nick Meiney in 2009-2010.

Other top finishers for the Golden Eagles included Stephanie Powell (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) was third in the weight throw, Becky Fabbiano (Lockport, NY/Lockport) was fifth in the pole vault), Melissa Scorse (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford-Mendon) was seventh in the 60-meter dash, Nicole Jones (West Charlton, NY/Galway) was seventh in the weight throw, Kristine Hoover (Pleasant Valley, NY/Arlington) was seventh in the shot put and Caitlin Moeller (Kingston, NY/Onteora) was ninth in the 400-meter dash. The 4x400 relay with Keelan Walsh (Clarence Center, NY/Clarence), Ashley Redino (Getzville, NY/Williamsville), Scorse and Moeller was sixth with a time of 4:21.00.

For the men, Zach Hine (Elmira, NY/Elmira Southside) was sixth in the 200-meter dash, Cameron Johnson (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda) was sixth in the 500-meter run, Khalil Jones (Rochester, NY/Greece Athena) finished seventh in the 60-meter dash, Nate Mathews (Frankfort, NY/Sauquoit Valley) was seventh in the 1,000-meter run and Brad Frink (Canastota, NY/Canastota) was 12th in the 3,000-meter race.
