Men’s Soccer tops cross-town rival St. John Fisher with 1-0 victory

Chris O'Gorman scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win over St. John Fisher

BOXSCORE

Sophomore Chris O'Gorman (Wading River, NY/Shoreham-Wading River) scored a second half goal for The College at Brockport Men's Soccer team leading the Golden Eagles to a 1-0 victory over St. John Fisher Wednesday night at Gowney Stadium at St. John Fisher.

The score was 0-0 at the end of the first half despite Brockport (2-1) hold a commanding 14-0 shots advantage but it was not until midway through the second half before the Brockport offense finally scored what turned out to be the only goal of the contest.

O'Gorman took a pass from junior Jeremy Cheeseman (Center Moriches, NY/St. Anthony's) and headed a ball past St. John Fisher (0-3) goalie, Kyle Metcalf for his first goal of the season.

Senior Kyle Sauln (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta) made two saves for Brockport as the Golden Eagles finished the game with a 21-5 shots advantage and a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Brockport travels to Stevens Tech in Hoboken, NJ for a pair of games over the weekend playing Stevens Friday and Kean University at Stevens Saturday.
