BROCKPORT, N.Y. - The Empire 8 Conference announced on Monday, November 2, that Brockport men's soccer standout Ryan Mathis has been named the Empire 8 Offensive Athlete of the Week following a standout performance in the Golden Eagles' first-round postseason victory over St. John Fisher on Saturday.

Mathis delivered a match-winning performance in Brockport's 2-1 victory, scoring both goals to lead the Golden Eagles to the Empire 8 Semifinals. After Brockport fell behind 1-0 in the first half, the Fairport, N.Y., native responded with goals in the 30th and 65th minutes (30:46, 64:09) to complete the comeback and secure the win.

With his two-goal performance, Mathis recorded his second multi-goal game of the season and netted his ninth and 10th goals of the year, establishing a new career single-season high. He also leads the Empire 8 in goals scored, continuing to serve as a driving force behind Brockport's offensive attack.

The Golden Eagles will return to action on Wednesday, November 4, when they travel to face top-seeded SUNY Geneseo in the Empire 8 Semifinals. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m., with the winner advancing to the Empire 8 Championship.
