Erica Johnson (Malone, NY/Franklin Academy) sank three three-point shots and finished with a team-high nine points but The College at Brockport Women's Basketball team fell to Cortland 72-39 in a State University Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) matchup.
Johnson connected on three of six shots from behind the arc in just 14 minutes of action off the bench to tie her career high in three-point field goals.
LaDonya Rolle (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) added six points and a team-high eight rebounds also off the bench
Two of Johnson's three pointers came on consecutive possessions with under 12 minutes to play in the first half, cutting the Cortland lead to 14-9. The Red Dragons pulled away throughout the remainder of the first half though and went into halftime with a 28-16 advantage.
Cortland maintained a consistent lead during the second half as well as Brockport struggled from the field, shooting just 22.6 percent from the floor overall. The Golden Eagles assisted on 75 percent of their field goals over the course of the game.
Brockport continues SUNYAC play on Saturday night as the Golden Eagles host the Geneseo Blue Knights at 6:00 pm at the John and Jim Vlogianitis Gym.
