The College at Brockport Men's Soccer team dropped its first State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) game of the year as the Golden Eagles fell to Oneonta 3-0 Friday afternoon at A. Huntley Parker Jr. Field in Brockport. The Golden Eagles are now 2-1-0 in the SUNYAC and 3-6-0 overall.

In a rematch of last year's SUNYAC Championship game, the two teams played a scoreless yet competitive first half. The second half remained scoreless until the Red Dragons scored three goals, including a penalty kick, in the final 12 minutes of the match. Freshman Casey Sullivan (East Syracuse, NY/East Syracuse-Minoa) made six saves on the day.

In the first meeting since Oneonta defeated Brockport in last year's championship game, the Golden Eagles came in riding a two-game conference winning streak. Brockport was outshot 8-3 in the first half as the Golden Eagles managed just one shot on goal in the first 45 minutes.

Peter DiLorenzo (Hicksville, NY/Hicksville) provided a spark on the offensive end for Brockport in the second half using his 6'3 frame. Bobby Ross (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island) had an opportunity in the 73rd minute as he put a header on goal but was saved by the Oneonta keeper.

Oneonta netted its first goal in the 79th minute after a corner kick was played into the Brockport box. Sullivan made the initial save but the Red Dragons buried the rebound. Less than 10 minutes later Oneonta scored on a shot from the top of the box and a penalty kick in the 88th minute concluded the scoring.

The Golden Eagles take on New Paltz tomorrow afternoon for a 1:00 pm home SUNYAC contest. The Hawks fell to Geneseo on Friday afternoon 2-0.
