Volleyball 1-1 in Season Finale

The Golden Eagles beat Houghton but fell to Hiram to close out the season

Jessica Greiner (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) and Amanda Reibe (Pleasant Valley, NY/Millbrook) led The College at Brockport women's volleyball offense on Saturday afternoon in their season finale tri-match against Houghton and Hiram. The Golden Eagles defeated Houghton in five sets, but fell to a strong Hiram team in three sets.

Against Houghton, Brockport won by scores of 25-18, 26-23, 23-25, 24-26 and 15-12. The Golden Eagles got out to an early lead against the Highlanders, but Houghton fought back in the third and fourth sets. With things tied up, Brockport was able to finish strong and complete the win.

In the second match of the day, the Golden Eagles fell to Hiram by scores of 25-22, 25-18 and 25-15. The Golden Eagles kept things close early on, but Hiram's strong offense was tough to control.

Greiner finished the day with an impressive 76 assists. She also added nine digs and four kills. Reibe recorded 26 kills to lead Brockport in scoring. She also tallied 10 digs.

Hannalee Fordyce (Amityville, NY/Copiague) registered 18 kills, while Mary Cocking (Bergen, NY/Byron-Bergen) had 17 and Hannah Sawicki (Hamburg, NY/Frontier) added 10.

Jaime Snyder (Elmira, NY/Thomas Edison) started for the first time at libero and finished the day with 25 kills.
