Annie Terilli (Brockport, NY/Brockport) scored two goals and had an assist as The College at Brockport Women's Soccer team cruised past Medaille 4-0 on Wednesday evening in Buffalo. With the win, the Golden Eagles improve to 5-1 and earned their third shutout of the season.
Brockport took control of the game from the first whistle. The Golden Eagles outshot the Mavericks 53-5 and also held an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks.
After peppering the Maverick goalkeeper with shots, Terilli drilled in her first goal of the game and the eventual game-winner at 16:31.
Vanessa Gillette (Fredonia, NY/Fredonia) crossed the ball and Terilli was able to rip a shot off into the upper corner of the goal.
The Golden Eagles pushed their lead to two at the end of the half. Freshman
Cayli Carmona (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia) recorded her first goal of her career with a strong shot off of a rebound. Fellow freshman
Chelsea Stahl earned the assist.
Brockport continued to hold control of the game in the second half. Terilli notched her second goal of the game with an unassisted shot off a corner kick at 55:39. A little over a minute later,
Courtney Szczesniak (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) tallied the final goal of the game and her first of the season, beating the defense off a pass from Terilli.
The Golden Eagles return to action Friday, September 27 at 4:00 pm for the first SUNYAC conference game of the season at Fredonia.
