Amanda Riebe (Pleasant Valley, NY/Millbrook) had a strong day with 24 kills and 18 digs to lead The College at Brockport women's volleyball team to a 2-0 day at the St. John Fisher Quad-Meet on Saturday afternoon.
In the first match of the day, Brockport fell in the first set 18-25. The Golden Eagles quickly bounced back and took the next three sets 25-11, 25-18 and 24-23.
Brockport captured a 25-17 victory in the first set against Oneonta, but fell 19-25 in set two. The Golden Eagles were able to once again back bounce and take the final two sets of the day 25-17 and 25-16.
Along with Riebe, Jess Senek (Ransomville, NY/Wilson) had a strong day offensively, recording 17 kills total. Hannalee Fordyce (Amityville, NY/Copiague) added 12 kills and Hannah Sawicki (Hamburg, NY/Frontier) had nine.
On defense, Mary Cocking (Brockport, NY/Byron-Bergen) led the way for the Golden Eagles with 23 digs. Jaime Snyder (Elmira, NY/Thomas Edison) and Liz Dates (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) both finished with 16 digs, while Jessica Greiner (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) tallied 14.
The Golden Eagles return to action on Tuesday at 7:00 pm for a rescheduled home match against Hilbert.
