Goals from Peter DiLorenzo and Paul Altobelli help Brockport secure 2-0 victory

Sullivan earns his second shutout of the season
Box Score
Two second half goals from Peter DiLorenzo (Hicksville, NY/Hicksville) and Paul Altobelli (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili) helped The College at Brockport men's soccer team to seal a 2-0 win at St. John Fisher College on Wednesday evening.

The Golden Eagles put high offensive pressure on the Cardinals from the start of the game. Despite controlling the ball in their offensive end and outshooting the Cardinals, the Golden Eagles could not find the back of the net in the first game. With emotions running high, both teams traded cards back and forth.

The beginning of the second half saw much of the same action. DiLorenzo was able to get the Golden Eagles on the board with a beautiful shot at 52:32. He dribbled into the box, dodged two defenders and blasted the ball into the top left corner past the diving Cardinal goalkeeper to give Brockport the 1-0 lead.

The Cardinals nearly scored in the minute after the Golden Eagle goal, but sophomore goalkeeper Casey Sullivan (East Syracuse, NY/East Syracuse-Minoa) had a diving save to keep Brockport ahead. St. John Fisher was able to put more pressure on the Golden Eagles in the middle of the second half, but was not able to finish. The Cardinals best shot of the night came with 9:50 remaining, but Sullivan was able to come up with another huge save.

With just over two minutes to play, Altobelli knocked in a goal off the rebound of a rip by Chris O'Gorman (Wading River, NY/Shoreham-Wading River) to help wrap up the victory.

Brockport outshot the Cardinals 8-4 and held a slim 6-5 advantage in penalty kicks.

Sullivan recorded four saves and earned his second shutout of the season.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday against Hobart. The game will be played at Brockport High School under the lights at 7:00 pm.
