Women’s Soccer Falls at Cortland

Brockport outshoots Red Dragons in 3-0 loss

The College at Brockport Women's Soccer team fell behind with two goals in a span of 4:34 midway through the first half and dropped a 3-0 decision to Cortland Friday afternoon in a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC game in Cortland.

Senior Cayli Carmona (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia) led Brockport (7-5-1 Overall, 1-4-1 SUNYAC) with seven shots and four shots on goal as the Golden Eagles held an 18-14 advantage in shots for the game and a 12-8 advantage in the second half but could not score against the Red Dragons (6-6-1, 5-1-1).

Cortland took a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute and added to the lead less than five minutes later in the 20th minute for a 2-0 lead.

The score remained 2-0 until late in the game when the Red Dragons added an insurance goal in the 83rd minute.

Laura Thompson (Victor, NY/Victor) started in the Brockport goal and made two saves before Catherine Eliasson (Salisbury Mills, NY/Cornwall) took over at halftime and two saves in the second half for the Golden Eagles.
