Box Score

Seniors Jessica Dobson-Tufo (Watertown, NY/Carthage) and Jaime Snyder (Elmira, NY/Thomas Edison) led The College at Brockport Volleyball team to victory over Keuka in the last home match of their Golden Eagle careers Friday night.

In three straight sets during senior night at Brockport, the Golden Eagles defeated Keuka by scores of 25-22, 25-15 and 25-14.

Dobson-Tufo came out strong from the beginning, converting four attacks into kills with both power and finesse. However the first set saw a back and forth battle between the Wolf Pack and Golden Eagles.  After Brockport broke away for a four point 17-13 lead, Keuka rallied to within a point. Brockport used an 8-6 run to close out the Wolf Pack with an emphatic kill from freshman Emily Flohr (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool).

Brockport used a 9-3 run in the second set to close out Keuka and again Flohr finished off the Wolf Pack with a kill. During the second set Flohr and freshman Brianna Richardson (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) led the team with three kills apiece.

In the third and final set of the night Brockport utilized a strong serving game. Snyder, freshman Aimee Spilman (Nassau, NY/Columbia) and sophomores Amanda Riebe (Pleasant Valley, NY/Millbrook) and Kelsey Baker (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) each had a service ace. Flohr closed out the match with yet again another kill.

Brockport's offense was led by junior Ashley Capone (Lowville, NY/Lowville) and Dobson-Tufo as neither Golden Eagle committed an error. Capone finished the match with a 0.727 hitting percentage and Dobson-Tufo nearly duplicated the unreal number with a 0.636 mark. Capone and Flohr led Brockport with eight kills. Freshman setter Noelle Poloncarz (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) put the ball where her high flying teammates wanted it, finishing with 28 assists.

The Golden Eagles defense was led by their senior libero Snyder. She finished the match with 17 digs and remains fourth in career digs in Brockport Volleyball's All-Time Record Book. Richardson also contributed three blocked shots during the match.

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Volleyball Tournament begins Friday Nov. 7 in New Paltz. Brockport clinched their first berth in the tournament since 2009 with two SUNYAC wins last weekend. The fourth-seeded Golden Eagles match is at 6 pm against fifth-seeded Oswego.
