Box Score Junior Katie Frieh (Amherst, NY/Amherst) scored the game-winning goal when she chipped a lob shot over the attacking Utica goalkeeper to help The College at Brockport Women's Soccer team to a 4-2 win in Brockport on A. Huntley Parker Jr. Field.
Brockport 7-3-1 overall, never receded the lead after sophomore Stefanie Drago (Rochester, NY/Greece Athena) got the scoring underway when she directed a rebounded shot into the back of the net at the 29th-minute mark. Brockport padded its lead less than five minutes later when sophomore Chelsea Stahl (Brockport, NY/Brockport) made a couple nice ball fakes to evade a defender and sent a bending shot from the left end of the box that curved inside the right post for the 2-0 Golden Eagle lead.
Utica scored a goal to trim the lead before Frieh gave Brockport some space again. Senior Cayli Carmona (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia) lofted a pass from midfield over Pioneer defenders to a streaking Frieh who then sent the ball over the diving goalkeeper for the eventual game-winner.
Carmona gave Brockport a three goal lead after she scored on a penalty kick midway through the second half. Freshman goalkeeper Catherine Eliasson (Salisbury Mills, NY/Cornwall) secured her first victory of her Golden Eagle career.
