Box Score

Sophomore Hannah Rehbaum (Cheektowaga, NY/Sacred Heart) scored a team-high 17 points including nine in the second half for The College at Brockport Women's Basketball team but the Golden Eagles fell behind late in the game and Hamilton was able to seal the 53-49 victory with consistent free throw shooting Wednesday night in a non-conference game in Clinton, NY.

A Rehbaum layup with just under five minutes to play gave Brockport (1-2) a 44-43 lead but Hamilton (1-1) scored the next two baskets to regain the lead before Rehbaum connected on a pair of free throws to trim the lead to one at 47-46 with 2:29 to play.

Neither team scored until a Hamilton layup with 41 seconds left to give the Continentals a three-point lead. Junior Olivia Suhr (Rochester, NY/Marion) grabbed an offensive rebound and was fouled with 26 seconds left and made one-of-two free throws.

After being fouled to stop the clock, Hamilton converted a pair of free throws stretching the lead to four points. Junior Marissa Pike (Burdett, NY/Watkins Glen) sank a jumper with 13 seconds on the clock to cut the lead in half.

Hamilton missed its next two free throws on the front end of one-and-one situations but was able to grab the offensive rebound both times and sealed the victory with two free throws with two seconds remaining for the 53-49 final score.

Rehbaum led three players into double figures scoring with her 17 points as Pike  and Suhr each finished with 10 points and Suhr led the way with 11 rebounds. Erin Cunningham (Marlboro, NY/Marlboro) had eight points on the strength of 6-for-8 free throw shooting and also grabbed five rebounds. Pike had seven rebounds while Faith Welch (Albany, NY/Catholic Central) handed out five assists.

The Golden Eagles are off until the first round action in the annual Wendy's College Classic Tuesday night December 2 at 8 pm in Brockport. The matchups for the tournament will be announced Sunday, November 30.
