Box Score Junior Olivia Suhr (Rochester, NY/Marion) scored a game-high 19 points for The College at Brockport Women's Basketball team but a 16-0 second-half run for St. Lawrence University led to a 78-53 victory for the Saints Tuesday afternoon in the final non-conference game of the season for the Golden Eagles at Jim and John Vlogianitis Gymnasium in Brockport.
Brockport (2-5) had an early nine-point lead in the first half before St. Lawrence (5-2) went on a 14-2 run to take its first lead of the game midway through the first half.
The team traded baskets for the remainder of the half until a late 10-0 St. Lawrence run gave the Saints a 37-30 advantage at the halftime intermission.
In the second half, St. Lawrence extended the lead to 13 points at 50-37 with 12:48 to play. A layup by Hannah Rehbaum (Cheektowaga, NY/Sacred Heart) and four points by Marissa Pike (Burdett, NY/Watkins Glen) trimmed the lead to six at the 8:19 mark.
The Saints rallied, scoring the next 16 consecutive points to regain control and a 22-point lead at 68-46 with 3:06 left in the game.
Suhr led all scorers with her 19 points while Pike added 13 and Rehbaum scored 11 for the Golden Eagles.
Brockport returns to action Tuesday, January 6 at Buffalo State with the start of State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) play.
