Box Score

Sophomore Hannah Rehbaum (Cheektowaga, NY/Sacred Heart) led The College at Brockport in scoring with 12 points as the Golden Eagles fell 65-47 to State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) standings leader Geneseo on the road Friday night.

Brockport was unable to stymie the Knight's offense, especially from beyond the arc. Geneseo was 7-of-12 from three point range and took command from the early going. Brockport led Geneseo in the turnover category, having turned the ball over 11 times compared to Geneseo's 15.

Brockport trailed the whole first half, coming within one point with five minutes remaining.  Rehbaum made a layup that brought the Golden Eagles within a single point. The layup was keyed by a block and rebound on the defensive end from Olivia Suhr (Rochester, NY/Marion). The Knights proceeded to score 11 of the next 14 points and took a 30-22 lead into the half. Rehbaum made a three pointer for Golden Eagles for the team's only score within the last five minutes of play in the first half.

Geneseo wasted little time as it built its lead to double digits in the second half. Two made free throws by a Knight, put Geneseo up by 10 less than a minute into the half. Brockport trailed 63-37 with four minutes remaining in the action. The Golden Eagles went on a 10-2 run as time ran out. Lisa Yacovoni (Endwell, NY/Maine-Endwell) nailed a three pointer for the final score of the game on an assist from Alyssa Rusinko (Fairport, NY/Fairport).

Rehbaum led Brockport with 12 points and tied for the team lead in rebounds with six. Tanisha Barr (Rochester, NY/Edison) was the other Golden Eagle with six rebounds.  Erin Cunningham (Marlboro, NY/Marlboro) was Brockport's second leading scorer with eight points. Suhr finished the game with two blocks.

The Golden Eagles travel to Cortland for a Tuesday night matchup at 7:30 pm and return home Friday for a rematch with Geneseo at 7:30 pm.
