Box Score BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Sophomore Catherine Eliasson put forth a tremendous effort for The College at Brockport Women's Soccer team as the Golden Eagles fell in a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) game 3-0 to Geneseo on Bob Boozer Field Saturday afternoon.
Brockport's (5-4-3 Overall, 1-2-2 SUNYAC) game was originally scheduled to be played on A. Huntley Parker Jr. Field but the threat of a rain storm resulted in a switch to the all-purpose turf field. The Green and Gold were outshot 23-7 during the game.
However Eliasson kept the team in the game with several big saves within the first half as both teams entered intermission with zero goals. In total, Eliasson finished the game with 13 saves including nine within the first half.
Chelsea Stahl led Brockport with three shots, all of which went on net but she was unable to sneak any past the Geneseo goalie.
The Knights took the lead immediately after the start of the second half. A quick foul led to a ball being sent down the field towards Brockport's end. The ball trickled around several players from both teams before a one touch pass from Geneseo led to a quick shot that met the top of the net for the 1-0 Geneseo lead. The Knights added two more scores in the 61st and 74th minutes of play.
Brockport returns to action with a SUNYAC game against Cortland on Thursday Oct. 15 at 3 p.m. at home. Be sure to stay up to date on all your Golden Eagle scores and awards by following @BportAthletics on Twitter and by liking the "Brockport Golden Eagles" Facebook page.
