Box Score POTSDAM, N.Y. – The College at Brockport Women's Soccer team fell 1-0 in a close game on the road to State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) opponent Potsdam Friday afternoon.
Brockport (7-5-3 Overall, 3-3-2 SUNYAC) outshot Potsdam 14-7 but fell behind on an early goal from the Bears.
In Potsdam's second shot of the game and first on net, the Bears scored for the 1-0 lead. Brockport continued to barrage the opposition with shots following the goal but were unable to capitalize.
Junior Chelsea Stahl and Ashley Makowski led the team with three shots each, with all of Stahl's testing the Potsdam goalkeeper.
Brockport goalkeeper Catherine Eliasson finished with one save as the Golden Eagles defense held Potsdam to just two shots on net.
The Golden Eagles remain on the road Saturday with another SUNYAC game against Plattsburgh at 1 p.m. The Green and Gold will be battling for position in the SUNYAC standings and seeding as a win would secure another game against Plattsburgh in the tournament quarterfinals.
