Brockport was propelled by several big performances in last weeks 49-42 win, including two that garnered conference and national recognition.
Dan Andrews continued with his stellar junior campaign, notching five touchdowns for the Golden Eagles and earning the title of Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Week. After his first score, Andrews set a new Brockport rushing touchdown record, finishing the day with 42 TD's over his career.
Andrews is also earning national recognition as he sits atop the leaderboards in two different categories. The junior leads the nation in rushing touchdowns with 22 as well as scoring with a 16.0 points per game average.
Another player earning time in the national spotlight is first-year defensive back
Rashad Baker, named to the D3football.com Team of the Week. Baker picked up his first two interceptions of his college career on Saturday, including a pick-six in the third quarter to tie the contest at 21-21. Baker helped seal the deal in the following quarter, when he halted Morrisville on their final drive of the game with his second interception.
The 6-3 Bengals come in to this week's contest with a 7-3 Empire 8 win over Ithaca College. The last time the Golden Eagles won the I-90 Bowl was in 2012, when Brockport came out on top of a 38-24 contest. The Bengals have the two most recent meetings, with a narrow 42-40 win in 2013 and a 55-21 victory in 2014.
