BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The 2015 fall season began with a hard fought 1-0 victory for The College at Brockport Women's Soccer team over Utica as two Golden Eagles with the first name of Chelsea had the decisive plays in the game. Chelsea Stahl scored the game-winning goal early in the second half for Brockport but it would have not been for the win had Chelsea Bowers not made an incredible defensive play in the first half.

Brockport (1-0) controlled the tempo of the game from the beginning, outshooting the Pioneers 26-4 overall. However Utica nearly took the lead prior to Bowers clearing the ball off the goal line.

Stahl was one of the leading scorers in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) last season and proved yet again to be a pest in oppositions' defensive efforts. She tallied five shots including three on goal. The lone score of the game was assisted by Christina Leonardo who also was able to put pressure on the Pioneers goalkeeper with three shots on net.

The Golden Eagle defense swarmed Utica on their home turf and gave the Pioneers very little room to maneuver whenever they were able to gain possession of the ball. Catherine Eliasson posted her first career shutout for the Golden Eagles during the opening season victory!
