ADA, OH – The College at Brockport Men's Soccer team traveled to Ohio for a big matchup against Ohio Northern Saturday night and emerged victorious eclipsing the Polar Bears 2-0 in a nonconference game. With his third shutout of the season, Brockport goalkeeper Casey Sullivan has tied the school record of career shutouts with 20.

Brockport (3-1) had a well-rounded game as it utilized a sound defensive effort plus a strong attack to score a victory with its third game scoring multiple goals.

Twenty-one minutes into the game, Brockport midfielder Connor Melanophy collected a rebound and sent a short cross to Peter DiLorenzo who connected on the pass to beat the Polar Bear goalkeeper for the 1-0 Golden Eagle lead.

The Golden Eagles were outshot 14-12 in the contest but Casey Sullivan thwarted any chance Ohio Northern put together as he finished the game with five saves.

In the second half of the game, Brockport added another score on a throw in from David LaPietra. LaPietra tossed the ball to DiLorenzo who headed the ball towards the net before David Rougeux one touched the ball into the back of the net for the final score of the game.

The Green and Gold Head Coach Gary LaPietra was pleased with the overall team effort, especially on the defensive end.
