Box Score FREDONIA, N.Y. – Katie Scott came through in a big way for The College at Brockport Women's Soccer team on Saturday afternoon with her first career goal as a Golden Eagle coming as a game-winner in a 1-0 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) game over Fredonia on the road.
Brockport (5-3-1 Overall, 1-1-0 SUNYAC) was outshot in the contest 20-16 but managed to have the lone shot that counted.
Scott's goal came in the 36th minute of play. The Golden Eagles had multiple shots leading up to the goal before Scott put the team on the scoreboard when Courtney Szczesniak passed the ball to Christina Leonardo who then sent a long through ball that Scott was able to convert for the goal.
Catherine Eliasson had a marvelous game as the Golden Eagles goalkeeper finishing the contest with 12 saves for her second shutout of the season.
Chelsea Stahl, Ashley Makowski, Leonardo and Szczesniak all were able to get multiple shots off. Stahl led the team with four total shots including three on net.
Brockport returns home on the weekend for homecoming and will face Oneonta on Friday at 3 p.m. and New Paltz at 1 p.m. Saturday as it continues SUNYAC play.
