BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The College at Brockport field hockey team wrapped up their 2016 season on Tuesday in a non-conference matchup against Ithaca College, narrowly falling, 2-0. The 2016 season marks the end of the head coach

The Golden Eagles finish 2016 with a mark of 5-12 while the Bombers move to 7-7 on the year.
It was a defensive battle, as it took till the final six minutes of play for either team to score a goal. In the 64th minute, the Bombers took advantage of a penalty corner, and buried a rebound to post their first goal. Brockport would see Ithaca post another score before the end of play, this time at the 2:30 mark to post a 2-0 lead, and take the 2-0 win.
The Green and Gold fought for 14 shots on the day, with 10 looks on goal. The Golden Eagles were also awarded seven penalty corners in the outing.
Margo Tremaine led the way with four shots, all on goal, while
Emilee Boddery and
Christina Conkling each added three shots a piece.
The Brockport defense stepped up, with six defensive saves on the day.
Kelsey Devine posted three, with
Maya Reina stopping two and
Autumn Swavely snagging one.
In goal,
Sarah Beam picked up all 70 minutes of play, making 10 saves on the day.
