Brockport Falls in SUNYAC Tournament to Oneonta, 3-0

ONEONTA, N.Y. – In the opening round of the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Tournament, The College at Brockport women's soccer team fell to No. 3 SUNY Oneonta, 4-0.
 
The Golden Eagles finish the season with an 8-6-2 mark, while the Red Dragons improve to 10-5-4 in 2016.
 
With the season on the line, Brockport came out strong, with a shot from Christina Leonardo in the 5th minute, forcing the Oneonta keeper to make a save.
 
The Green and Gold defense worked to slow the Red Dragons, and were successful for the opening 23 minutes of play.  The Green and Gold saw the hosts post their first goal when Oneonta connected on a rebound off the Brockport net minder's hand, to give the Red Dragons a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute.
 
In the second half, Brockport worked to hold off Oneonta, but in the 78th minute, they saw their counterpart's post two quick goals to post a 3-0 advantage. The Red Dragons would net their final goal in the 84th minute to secure the 4-0 win, and advance to the SUNYAC Tournament semi-finals.
 
The Golden Eagles posted five shots in the contest, with two on goal and were awarded two corner kicks.
 
Catherine Eliasson got the start, and in 84 minutes of play, picked up seven saves. Daniele Ogrodowski saw over five minutes of action, making one save.
