Brockport picks up an assist with Play 4 Kay

BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The College at Brockport Women's Basketball team hosts SUNY Plattsburgh on Friday Feb. 19 in the "Play 4 Kay" game and will be raising funds throughout the week for Kay Yow Women's Basketball Coaches Association Cancer Fund.

The team will be selling ribbons and fundraising in the days leading up to the game. Ribbon sales begin Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Student Union. Sales will continue on Wednesday also in the Union from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. and will switch locations on Thursday to Kinetic's Café from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. If you are unable to make it to one of these times ribbons will also be on sale at Friday's game at the door. During the night's game there will be a t-shirt toss for every Golden Eagle three pointer and a 50/50 raffle as well.

Proceeds generated will be given to the Kay Yow Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Cancer Fund. The WBCA works with college teams from across the country to organize Pink Zone events on their campuses to raise money in honor and memory of the former North Carolina State Head Women's Basketball Coach Kay Yow, who passed away in January of 2009 after battling with cancer.

Brockport travels on Tuesday to face State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) foe Cortland at 5:30 p.m. before concluding its season this weekend against Plattsburgh on Friday and Potsdam on Saturday.
