BUFFALO, N.Y. – The College at Brockport men's soccer team wrapped up their State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) road trip on Saturday against Buffalo State, falling in a close 2-0 match.
The Golden Eagles move to 1-5-1 on the year, and 0-2-0 in conference play while the Bengal's are now 7-2-1 in 2016 and 2-0-0 in SUNYAC action.
Brockport found itself in an early hole, as Buffalo scored twice in the opening 20 minutes of play to take an early 2-0 lead. The Brockport defense stepped up, holding the Bengals scoreless for the rest of play. The Green and Gold offense couldn't find the back of the net, despite firing eight shots in the contest.
The Golden Eagles best scoring looks came from
Chris Shepard,
Justin Mercer and
Quintin Volpe, who each had shots on goal.
Joseph Romano picked up all 90 minutes of action for the Golden Eagles, as the net minder made five saves on the day.
The Golden Eagles will return home for their next contest, as they prepare to host SUNY New Paltz on Sept. 30.
