Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Brockport season comes to an end after 3-0 defeat

CORTLAND, N.Y.—The College at Brockport women's soccer team lost to SUNY Cortland on Saturday, 3-2, in a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) quarterfinals matchup.
 
The Green and Gold played tight with the Red Dragons throughout the entire first half, fending off nine shots. Goalkeeper Emma Nevers made five saves in the first 45 minutes of play to keep the opponent off of the board. Brockport shot four times, but were unable to net a goal and the game headed into half-time in a 0-0 tie.
 
The second half started off with a hard foul by the Golden Eagles that led to the first goal for Cortland off of a penalty kick 45 seconds into the half. Brockport continued to fight, but the Red Dragons netted two more goals in an eight minute stretch. The Green and Gold were unable to mount a comeback and fell by a score of 3-0.
 
The Golden Eagles finished the season with a 9-7-2 overall record and 4-5-1 in conference play. Freshman Sarah Covell completed the season as the team's top goal scorer with six. Lindsey Lovett led the team with three assists.
