BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The No. 12 College at Brockport women's lacrosse team picked up a strong win on Sunday, posting a 17-7 win over Montclair State University.

The Golden Eagles improve to 6-0 on the season while the Red Hawks fall to 5-2 on the year.

In what opened as a tightly contested battle, Kelly Wall began the scoring at the 28:07 mark, but Montclair posted the answer with a pair of goals. The Green and Gold offense sparked, with three straight scores, the first from Jillian Babinsky and the second two from Wall to post the early hat-trick and 4-2 lead.

Brockport saw the Red Hawks rattle off three straight, but fought to regain the lead to close the half, with Heather Conklin and Wall each working in a goal to take a 6-5 lead into the break.

The second half was all Brockport, as the Golden Eagles came out of the break fired up, scoring 10 straight goals to open the frame. Over the course of the opening 23 minutes of the half, Jessica Boddery scored three goals, Babinsky and Hannah Cullen each accounted for two scores, while Cassandra Minered, Andrea Zlinsky and Wall each netted one for the 16-5 edge.

Montclair would find the back of the cage on two more occasions to close the half, split by Wall's sixth goal, but Brockport held on for the 17-7 win.

The high-octane Green and Gold offense was producing on all cylinders, with Wall leading the charge with six goals and Babinsky and Boddery each chipping in three, while Babinsky added one assist.

On the defensive side, the Golden Eagles were led by Minerd, who in addition to her goal, added five ground balls and one draw control win. Katie Curran turned in a pair of caused turnovers, while seven other Golden Eagles accounted for a CT in the win.

Sarah Brown picked up the win on the day, seeing over 49 minutes of action and making nine saves.

As a team, Brockport outmatched Montclair in shots (29-26), shots on goal (25-19), saves (12-8), and ground balls (27-14). The Green and Gold forced 18 turnovers, and picked up 11 draws on the day.
