GENESEO, N.Y.- The College at Brockport softball team dropped a pair of games to Plattsburgh State on Monday in State University of New York Athletic Conference action (SUNYAC). The Golden Eagles fell in game one by a score of 4-2 and then dropped the second contest in five innings 9-0.

Brockport falls to 10-10 and 2-4 in SUNYAC play, while Plattsburgh improves to 16-10 and 7-1 in league action.

Game 1:

The Cardinals struck first in the top of the fourth inning to take a 1-0 lead. Plattsburgh added three more runs in the fifth to extend their lead to 4-0.
Meghan Cullen put the Green and Gold on the board first, crushing her first career home run to left center field, cutting the Plattsburgh lead to 4-1.

Brockport was able to put some pressure on in the home half of the seventh inning, when
Mikelle Deck came around to score on an error to cut the Cardinal advantage to 4-2. However, the Golden Eagles were not able to push across any more runs.

Amanda Colon drops to 2-4 on the season, pitching four innings, allowing four runs on eight hits.
Becky Knorr tossed the final three innings, not surrendering a run, but allowing three hits and striking out three.

Game Two:

The Golden Eagles were unable to score any runs in the second contest and were held to only two hits for the game.Â

Plattsburgh struck for three in the third frame and tacked on six more runs in the top of the fourth to take a commanding 9-0 advantage.

Alexis Ross and
Casey Danko collected a hit each for the Golden Eagles and each stole one base.

Michaela Contreras drops her first outing of the season, pitching 3.1 innings. Knorr pitched the final 1.2 innings giving up two earned runs on four hits.

Brockport returns to action on Tuesday, April 11 traveling to Buffalo, N.Y. for a double-header against D'Youville College. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
